Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP)

Download the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (Adobe acrobat format)

Why have a SEP?

Stakeholder consultation is a vital part of the production of all SAFEGROUNDS documents. This is because the network’s guidance should, as far as possible, incorporate consensus views. For each guidance document it is necessary to balance the need and desire for stakeholder engagement in all stages of production of the document with costs and demands on stakeholders’ time. It is also important to match the extent of stakeholder consultation with the status and nature of the document.

What does the SEP cover?

The SEP shows:

1. document to be consulted on
2. what will be consulted on (e.g. the document’s form and function, its outline contents or a full draft of the document)
3. who will be consulted (e.g. the widest possible group of stakeholders or a smaller representative group)
4. how the consultation will be carried out (e.g. by a questionnaire or by holding a workshop)
5. when the consultation will take place

How was it produced?

The flow diagram below shows the consultation process for producing the SAFEGROUNDS Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
