This page lists the UK regulatory regimes for radioactive contamination, non-radioactive contamination and mixed contamination on nuclear-licensed sites, defence sites and other sites where it is known or suspected that radioactive contamination may be present.

For radioactively contaminated land
Nuclear-licensed sites:
- Nuclear Installations Act 1965 (principal regime)
- Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (for radioactive wastes)
- Planning regime (when site delicensed and to be redeveloped)
Defence nuclear sites:
- MoD nuclear safety regime
Defence non-nuclear sites:
- Part 2A of Environmental Protection Act 1990, if no change of land use to occur
- Planning regime, if change of land use to occur
- Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (for radioactive wastes, if change of ownership will occur)
Other sites:
- Part 2A of Environmental Protection Act 1990, if no change of land use to occur
- Planning regime, if change of land use to occur
- Radioactive Substances Act 1993 (for radioactive wastes)
