CoRWM Engagement Liaison Group

The CoRWM Engagement Liaison Group was established to aid communication between nuclear stakeholder dialogues, such that each could take into account the plans of the others when developing engagement programmes, and exchange information about good practices. CIRIA attended the Engagement Liaison Group meetings representing SD:SPUR and SAFEGROUNDS Learning Networks. This group is no longer convened by CoRWM (see below).

Engagement Liaison Group

This Engagement Liaison Group was originally convened by CoRWM, but closed when CoRWM provided its main recommendations to Government in July 2006. In April 2007, the NDA judged it was appropriate to reconvene the group, given the volume and complexity of stakeholder engagement work in the UK nuclear sector at the time.

The liaison group aims to enable better coordination between national stakeholder engagement processes in the UK nuclear sector. It meets approximately 3-4 times a year in London and meeting reports are posted on the NDA website. CIRIA represents the SD:SPUR and SAFEGROUNDS Learning Networks at these meetings.

Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) National Stakeholder Group (NSG)

The NDA established a National Stakeholder Group (NSG) to enable stakeholders to explore issues and submit proposals for consideration by the NDA. NSG participants are from national and international organisations, Site Stakeholder Groups and NDA. CIRIA represents the SD:SPUR and SAFEGROUNDS Learning Networks at the NSG.

The NSG met for the first time in October 2005 and meets twice a year. Further information about the NSG, including summary reports from the meetings, is available on the NDA website at www.nda.gov.uk/stakeholders/nsg/

ISOLUS (Interim Storage Of Laid-Up Submarines) Advisory Group

The ISOLUS project has been set up to develop and implement a solution for the dismantling and interim storage of the UK's defuelled nuclear powered submarines.

The ISOLUS Advisory Group has been set up to advice the MoD ISOLUS Steering Group (MISG) and project team, including giving input and feedback on content proposals and advising on stakeholder involvement processes. CIRIA has been invited to represent the SD:SPUR and SAFEGROUNDS Learning Networks at the first meeting of this group.

Further information, including notes from the advisory group meetings, is available on the ISOLUS website at www.isolus.org.uk
