The Trawsfynydd site which is located in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales on the shores of the Trawsfynydd Lake, opened in 1965. It is the home of a twin Magnox reactor which was shut down in 1993. Its electrical output was 390MW. Following successful defuelling, the reactors are now undergoing decommissioning by the BNFL Reactor Decommissioning Unit
