Wylfa Power Station, Anglesey, North Wales (1971)

Wylfa Power Station, Anglesey, North Wales (1971)

Wylfa is the site of the last Magnox twin reactor to be built in the UK (1971). The power station stands on a 50 hectare site on the coast, and its location was deliberately chosen because the land here has minimal agricultural value, offers easy access, is geologically sound and uses cooling water from the Irish Sea. Its net electrical output is 960MW.
